| 02/07/99 Shane Bell--Two Midland Girl Scouts are making their mark by crafting quilts to benefit the Red Cross Youth and Disaster Departments. This project is to help them earn the Girl Scout Gold Award. Charu Gupta and Kathryn Chandler are with Girl Scout Post 386. These quilts will be auctioned off to earn funds for the American Red Cross of Southwest Texas Youth and Disaster Departments. Currently the Youth Department has no money in their budget because it is a new program. | 02/07/99 Shane Bell--The Explorer program is getting off to a slow start. The Post is going to start meeting on the First and Third Tuesdays of each month. We have recieved approval to become insructers in Health & Safety with the exception of aquatic classes. Intrest is quickly developing throughout the city of Midland, but we have not starting meeting.
